Day after the incident, this is looking into the closed off area which was blocked off by police. Before the incident there would have been lots of people in the area.
These guys were probably plain clothes police
discussing the situation. We did not try to enter
even though our hotel was inside the area. We
walked around the back street and found the
other end of Rankestrasse and it had a tape
across it. We asked the policeman at the tape if
we could get to our hotel and said only if you have hotel key which we had. The street was usually full of parked cars was almost deserted and all the outdoor seating for restaurants and small stores were closed.
