WEDNESDAY DAY THREE OF REUNION

Wednesday started out with a meeting on deciding if Phil would go along to tour the LST 325. He decided that all the narrow stairs would be too much for him so Alyson and Phil and then Kay and Gene stayed at the hotel while the rest of us split up into two cars and headed to the LST. The tours start at 10am so we wanted to be one of the first groups but when we arrived we saw a group of elementary students and escorts being instructed on their upcoming tour. We checked in and saw most of a good introduction video before we were called to join our guide who was a retired air force young man who gave us a very thorough and lively presentation. About half way through the tour a women asked me what our group was and I said I was hosting my classmates from all over. She said "Then that is Joe Schumacher!" I said yes and she explained that she had worked with him in Dallas. Small world isn't it! Joe and the lady (sorry I did not remember her name) tagged along behind the group reminiscing as we finished the tour.

LST 325

As we neared the end of our tour I called Alyson back at the motel and told her to head to our next stop the Reitz Memorial Museum. We piled into our cars and headed to the same place. For some reason I missed the location and the crew had to walk about 3 blocks in a slight drizzle. Meanwhile Alyson was having trouble finding a close parking place and for some reason Al Camp ended right at the door. After seeing a video about the history of the home we started the tour and after we had done the first floor it was decided that the stairs were too much for Phil and they got to see pictures of the second floor while we toured that floor. Next on the schedule was lunch at the Hacienda.

Lunch at Haciena

After a nice hot and saucy meal we went across the street to St. Anthony Church to celebrate our Mass. Father Jay Davidson , the Pastor, the choir and servers were already waiting for us. Everybody tried various albs for size and each had a stole that Mat Miller from diocese Liturgy Office had loaned us. Out side of a few slips the Mass went  very well. The choir was terrific and our congregation of three - my daughter, Angela, along with Kay and Alyson enjoyed it.
